Quirky greetings cards, offbeat cards, leftfield cards, uneqivocally funny cards at any rate - Quite Funny Stuff.com creates and sells its own greetings cards and is controlled by a couple of long-standing friends who’ve each been working in publishing and design for quite some time. All of the illustrations are by a third friend, professional illustrator Corin Page (www.corinpage.co.uk) and most of the creative concepts are by fourth and fifth friends Jason Scott (identified by card code JS) or by David Ewen (DE). No children or animals have been knowingly harmed in the production process but the sanity of the creative contributors is of course open to debate.
Inspirational in the creation of Quite Funny Stuff was not, as you may have expected, Gary Larson and his now defunct range of funny greetings cards from The Far Side, but the fact that the wry, cynical and downright odd observations of Jason and David deserved a wider audience and a greetings card format seemed the ideal way to bring a cheery smile to both you the prospective buyer, and to the person you give a card to. Indeed, you might even agree with us that the cards are so good that you’ll have to go out and get more friends, or at least send your existing friends and family a card after a party they might throw, or a birthday they might have, etcetera etcetera. By the way, we don’t do so-called ‘personalised’ cards at Quite Funny Stuff because we think that the only person who can really personalise a card is you. ‘So what?’ if the intended recipient lives half-way around the world; just buy a card now and post it nice and early. [The website http://www.royalmail.com will tell you the postage costs to your destination and if you’ve a printer then you can even buy your postage at that website and print it directly onto our envelope (see ‘online postage’ at royalmail.com). So don’t worry if your stamp drawer is empty and you don’t fancy the prospect of a trip to a post office.]
